Addiction To Power

Description

No, I’m not dead.

The devil has an addiction to power. So he tempted Christ.

How would you call a person who had gone addicted to power? A person drunk with power and can’t get enough?

At the height of the worst ever election-related violence, the Maguindanao massacre, where 57 people have been brutally murdered, Arroyo filed her candidacy to run for congress and justifies her decision to run as representative in this wise, or unwise: "Public service is emblazoned on my DNA." I could think of a lot of things embossed on her (greed, gluttony, and all those negative adjectives used to describe a corrupt public official) but hell yeah, public service is not one of them.

This is my opinion, I welcome yours and I don’t give a damn if you care to disapprove mine. We are all entitled to have our own views. She intends to be in a spot of power and control, not only to protect her but also to use the Congress as a stand to uphold her attacks against the incumbent president until she gets what she wants and enjoys what she wants. Or failing that, I read it from news (Philippine Daily Inquirer dated last Dec. 3) that Malacañang is not desperate to drench the long-running suspicion that the point behind President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s run for Congress in 2010 is to push Charter change (Cha-cha)—and possibly bring about a shift to a parliamentary government, where she could bag the post of prime minister. Adding to that, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita acknowledged that the amendment of the 1987 Constitution remained a priority of Ms Arroyo, a clear manifestation of how greed the accidental president is, that even in her bullshit SONA (State of the Nation Address) she said that she was gunning for it.

The accidental president may not be bound of any legal obstacles to remain active in politics after her term is over, but for delicadeza’s sake, she should retire and face the barrage of lawsuits. The Filipinos would surely wear a grin looking at her prosecuted for her crimes against the masses. She should give others a chance to serve the Filipino people. I believed that there are a lot of people who are worthy and capable of serving the public. Enough of her nine years of unabated corruption.

Indeed, “the family that steals together, stays together”.

No, I’m not dead. Sorry for my hiatus.
